Glenn Youngkin is an American businessman and politician serving as the 74th Governor of Virginia since 2022. He co-founded and led the private equity firm Carlyle Group’s investment efforts before entering politics. He won the 2021 Virginia gubernatorial election as a Republican, defeating former Democratic Governor Terry McAuliffe. His tenure has focused on education reform, economic growth and cultural issues.
