She studied Philosophy, Politics, and Economics at Merton College, Oxford. Initially a Liberal Democrat, she joined the Conservative Party in 1996 and became a Member of Parliament for South West Norfolk in 2010. Truss held various cabinet positions, including Foreign Secretary and Secretary of State for Justice and Lord Chancellor. Her tenure as Prime Minister lasted just 49 days, making her the shortest-serving prime minister in British history. She lost her parliamentary seat in the 2024 general election.
