Adam Schiff is an American lawyer and politician serving as the junior United States senator from California since 2024. He has been a prominent figure in American politics, representing California’s 27th, 29th, 28th, and 30th congressional districts in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2001 to 2024. Before entering politics, Schiff worked as a law clerk and an assistant U.S. attorney. He spent a year as a law clerk for Judge William Matthew Byrne Jr. of the United States District Court for the Central District of California after graduating from law school. From 1987 to 1993, Schiff served as an assistant United States attorney in the Office of the United States Attorney for the Central District of California. During this time, he prosecuted high-profile cases, including the trial of Richard Miller, a former FBI agent who spied for the Soviet Union.
