He’s served as Israel’s Prime Minister multiple times, holding the record for the longest-serving prime minister in Israel’s history with over 16 years in office. Netanyahu served in the elite Sayeret Matkal unit of the Israel Defense Forces, participating in high-risk operations, including the rescue of Sabena Flight 571 in 1972. He was Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations from 1984 to 1988 and later served as Foreign Minister and Finance Minister.
