Lloyd Austin is T is a retired four-star general in the United States Army and served as the 28th United States Secretary of Defense from January 2021. He had a distinguished military career, including serving as the commander of United States Central Command. After retiring from the military, Austin became the first African American to hold the office of Secretary of Defense.
