Tom Cotton is an American politician serving as the senior United States Senator for Arkansas. A member of the Republican Party, he has been in office since 2015. Cotton previously served in the U.S. House of Representatives, representing Arkansas’s 4th congressional district from 2013 to 2015. His life before politics was marked by his service in the United States Army and his work as an attorney. He enlisted in the US Army in 2005 and served nearly five years on active duty as an Infantry Officer. Cotton completed combat tours in both Iraq and Afghanistan, earning honors such as the Bronze Star Medal and the Combat Infantryman Badge.
